Indu Lakshmi is the writer and director of Malayalam feature film NILA, produced by the government of Kerala. The script of NILA was chosen for production after winning a state level competition as part of women empowerment held by the Government of Kerala under an eminent jury of senior filmmakers and writers.
Indu is also the writer of Malayalam feature film Daayam(Inheritance) which has been selected to various National and International film festivals.
She is a published author of three books( Poetry, Short Stories and translation) and has written and directed short films selected to many prominent national and international film festivals.
Indu graduated from Government Engineering College, Trivandrum in Information Technology and has been working in Infosys Technologies since 2005. She also has a post graduation (Master of Arts) in Psychology and works with various NGOs. Indu currently lives in Germany.
