In The Wake Of The Current is an audiovisual meditation on bullfighting and change in a fishing village in Goa, India that is caught between traditional and modern life.
Traditional fishing vs. mechanised trawling, village life vs. city life, humans vs. animals, man vs. the elements. The endless struggle of existence vs. unity, compassion, and harmony.
In The Wake Of The Current portrays a very specific setting but alludes to questions relevant to many parts of the world: What are the roots of the forces, needs, and desires that govern our lives? How will the way we live right now shape our future? Is it possible to progress without destroying the old?
