Gulmohar will see the return of Padma Bhushan and National award-winning thespian Sharmila Tagore to entertainment after 12 years for an absorbing story that has united a multiple award-winning ensemble cast - National Award winner Manoj Bajpayee, National Award winner Amol Palekar, Filmfare winner Simran and BAFTA nominated actor Suraj Sharma (Life Of Pi) joining Sharmila Tagore in the film. The heartwarming film revolves around the multi-generation Batra family who are all set to move out of their 34-year-old family home. This moving out triggers a re-discovery of the bonds that have held them together as a family, while grappling with personal secrets and insecurities, a story that will intrigue audiences till the very end!

Director : Rahul V. Chittella
Rahul V. Chittella is an independent writer, producer and director. He was the director and executive producer of the Global Lives Project, India in 2009, after which he worked with the United Nations Documentary Program at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. Since 2010, Rahul has collaborated with prolific filmmaker, Mira Nair, as her creative and producing partner on projects like The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Words with God, Nafas, Queen of Katwe, and A Suitable Boy. He is also one of the producers of Monsoon Wedding Musical which recently premiered in Doha, Qatar as a part of the special projects being curated for FIFA 2022. Rahul had previously written and directed Azaad, a thirty-minutes film featuring the Indian National Award-winning actors Atul Kulkarni, Siddharth Menon and Sakshi Tanwar. It was India’s first film to be screened by UNESCO at the prestigious World Press Freedom Day forum in Jakarta, Indonesia and was also picked up by the Cinema for Peace Foundation, Berlin for various screenings across Europe. Azaad has won many awards at various film festivals including the International Film Festivals of Zanzibar and Stuttgart. Rahul has received the Global Media Makers Fellowship by Film Independent and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. In 2019, he as awarded the prestigious Sloan Science and Film grant by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Along with his creative partner, Arpita Mukherjee, Rahul has recently completed writing a feature musical for Chernin Entertainment (Hidden Figures, Ford vs Ferrari) and Mira Nair. He is the founder of Autonomous Works – an independent creative studio producing film, tv and audio narratives.
