From GOD ON THE BALCONY director Biswajeet Bora, BOOMBA RIDE is a scathing comic satire of corruption in India’s rural education system – and one 8-year old boy (newcomer Indrajit Pegu, in a remarkable performance) who knows how to rig the game for himself. Inspired by a true story, the film was shot in the state of Assam on the banks of the Brahmaputra River with a mostly nonprofessional cast. The story revolves around an impoverished school where there is only one (unwilling) student, Boomba. Desperate to keep their jobs and funding, the teachers wind up bribing the hilariously impassive and uncooperative boy to show up to class – while Boomba’s secret wish is to attend the better-funded school in town where a slightly older and very pretty girl just happens to be a student.

Biswajeet Bora is an Indian filmmaker, producer, editor and writer and one of the renowned filmmakers from Northeast India, now based in Mumbai. He worked with internationally acclaimed filmmaker Jahnu Barua for 7 years as an Assistant Director before making his first Hindi film titled AISA YEH JAHAAN which was India's first carbon neutral film. Later he forayed into commercial cinema in Assam with BAHNIMAN, which is one of the biggest hits in Assam till now. His films RAKTABEEZ was also a commercial hit, with his film PHEHUJALI, he got critical acclaim and recognition in various international film festivals. He won best director awarded as the BEST DIRECTOR 'Golden Royal Bengal Tiger Trophy’ for the film GOD ON THE BALCONY at 26th Kolkata International Film Festival, which is India's one of the oldest and biggest film festivals. The film has been also officially selected at various international festivals such as 24th Shanghai International film Festival 2021, 25th International Film Festival Of Kerala, 26th Kolkata International Film Festival, 20th New York Indian Film Festival, 19th Dhaka International Film Festival, 20th Imagine India International Film Festival 2021, Madrid & 19th Pune International Film Festival.
He is ready with his next film BOOMBA RIDE and now working on an epic film of Assam (North East India) based on the life & sacrifice of the famous queen SATI SADHANI. This is going to be the biggest budget film from the state of Assam
